baby iguana habitat help?
my iguana is very young. still a baby.
i built a cage 6ft long by 2ft wide and 2 1/2 ft tall.
he has a uvb light. a 100 watt heat bulb and a 100 watt ceramic heat emitter.
i have rocks for him to climb on, a vine/branch thing, and a hollowed out log for a shady spot.
i have a mix of coco fiber and reptibark for substrate.
a big water dish that he can even swim in. and a food dish.
my tank still looks pretty empty. and i was wondering if this was a good set up, or if i needed anything else
Your cage setup is ok right now. However in a yeat you are going to need to tip it on its side.
Iguanas love to climb and feel at home in the trees. My male is over 5′ and spends most of his day hanging out on his top branch in his cage. I covered the walls in the green indoor outdoor carpet and added branches going up to his top branch. He climbs the carpet to get up to his branch and uses the branches to get down.
If he is not on his top branch he is soaking in his large flat rubbermaid tub.
My cage is 4′ wide, 2′deep, 6′ tall.
